A Greenfield man whose two young children were killed in a fire Sunday morning is being held on $1 million bond at the Highland County Justice Center.

Rep. Kathleen Chandler told House committee members that the purpose of the legislation is to “revise public notice requirements so as to continue to meet our responsibilities to the public, to provide cost savings to local governments and to better utilize modern technology.”

Current economic conditions have led to yet another reduction in the county budget.
    At the Wednesday meeting of the Highland County Board of Commissioners, Highland County Economic Development Director Dan Cowdrey was informed the county would no longer fund his office.
