The U.S. Coast Guard is actively engaged in Arctic defense, monitoring and dealing with potential national security threats posed by Chinese ships. Last summer, the Coast Guard chased away Chinese vessels.

Millions of Americans celebrated America 250, Sail 250 events in key ports, boarding scores of ships that sailed thousands of nautical miles to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence. Sail 250 events began in New Orleans after Memorial Day weekend and concluded in Boston this week. 

On July 17, two U.S. service members in Jordan were killed in action as U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and partner forces defended against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks. Additionally, one service member is currently missing in action.
