The Hillsboro and McClain baseball rivalry continues to amaze me each and every time they step between the white lines.

Last weekend, most farmers got their wish as nearly all of Highland County received a much welcomed measurable rain. That seems like a very odd statement to make at this time of year when typically farmers are asking for dry conditions in a “normal” April.

Commissioners said this week they are inclined to recommend a resolution to the staffing dilemma at the Highland County Clerk of Courts office that does not include adding another county employee. As first reported at www.highlandcountypress.com, Court of Appeals Judge Roger Kline spoke out on behalf of Highland County Clerk of Courts Paulette Donley at the April 28 meeting of the Highland County Board of Commissioners.

The United States Postal Service, in conjunction with Campbell's Soup and various other national organizations, will be holding their annual Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive Saturday, May 8 across the country. This year marks the first year that rural carriers as well as urban carriers will be participating in the food drive.
