Last May, after living in the U.S. with a green card for 20 years, Andrew Pearson took the oath and became a citizen. He registered to vote at the naturalization ceremony, but like some other new citizens, he received a letter challenging his registration. But Pearson argues according to state law, he shouldn’t have.
