The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred off state Route 73 near Murphy Road at approximately 12:37 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26.

      Nina Humphreys, a registered nurse (RN), is the new coordinator for Surgery Center and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). In this role Humphreys will apply her 32 years of experience directly supervising staff and coordinate education requirements.

Hillsboro business icon Homer M. Webster passed away Monday, Jan. 25 at The Laurels.
He was 86. Mr. Webster owned and operated Webster Shoe Repair on South High Street in Hillsboro for many years.

Southern State Community College has released its president's and dean's list for academic excellence for Fall Quarter 2009. To be eligible for the president's list, a student must maintain a 4.0 grade point average while carrying a minimum of 12 academic credit hours. Those who achieve the dean's list are also full-time students who have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0.
