Southern State announces Human and Social Services faculty member

Southern State Community College is pleased to announce Patricia Beach, of Wilmington, as the new full-time faculty member for the Department of Human and Social Services (HSSR). Beginning Spring Semester, which started January 13, Beach transitioned from a part-time faculty member to full-time status.
With an extensive background in licensed professional counseling, Beach holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education from Lindsey Wilson College. She is committed to providing high-quality instruction, and as a graduate of Southern State herself, she is excited to share her experiences with the students.
“I am looking forward to being part of the development of the next generation of human and social services professionals,” said Beach. “I look forward to working with students, faculty, and the broader community to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.”
The Human and Social Services program at Southern State offers two options; an Associate of Applied Science degree in Human and Social Services and an Associate of Applied Science degree in HSSR: Chemical Dependency. Each pathway provides students with comprehensive training in various social service disciplines, including case management, mental health counseling, social work, and public policy.
Beach's appointment will further enhance the department's ability to offer relevant, hands-on education that meets the evolving needs of the community and workforce.
