Local law enforcement joins search for Kentucky suspect

On Dec. 31, the Hillsboro Police Department was made aware of a pursuit that originated in Highland Heights, Ky. The pursuit entered Highland County and was approaching the city limits. 

An officer from the Hillsboro Police Department deployed stop sticks and brought the vehicle came to a stop in the 300 block of East South Street. The suspect fled on foot in a wooded area. 

The suspect has been identified but has not been located at this time. 

Currently, local law enforcement is unaware if the suspect is armed.

The pursuit started in Kentucky and the Ohio State Highway Patrol joined in when the vehicle came into Ohio. The State Patrol is handling the investigation. 

According to Highland County Sheriff Randy Sanders, HCSO officers assisted along with the Hillsboro Police Department.
