A Leesburg man was sentenced recently to nearly five years in prison after pleading guilty to a second-degree felony drug trafficking charge.

As previously reported, Justin A. Stubbs, 47, was indicted by a Highland County grand jury in October and charged with aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine, a second-degree felony; aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony; and possession of LSD, fifth-degree felony.

According to court records, Stubbs pleaded guilty Dec. 15 to the meth trafficking charge, with the other two charges dismissed.

For that count, it is alleged that on or about Aug. 19, Stubbs “knowingly prepared for shipment, shipped, transported, delivered, prepared for distribution or distributed” meth in an amount equal to or exceeding five times bulk amount but less than 50 times bulk amount.

Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Stubbs to a minimum of three years in prison. Under the Reagan Tokes Law, Stubbs could serve up to four and a half years in prison for this charge. He had 88 days of jail time credit.

In addition, Stubbs was previously sentenced in October 2024 to nine months in prison for a fifth-degree felony meth possession charge. Coss ordered Stubbs to serve the 609 days remaining on his post-release control for that charge, consecutive to the three-year minimum sentence.
