Local law enforcement executed search warrants and made multiple arrests in Hillsboro, Greenfield and Rocky Fork Lake areas Wednesday, May 9, one day after a Highland County grand jury handed down 15 indictments in connection with Highland County Task Force investigations.

This month’s charges were the result of ongoing work of the Highland County Task Force and local county law enforcement partners to stop drug trafficking in the area. Highland County Task Force, Highland County Sheriff’s Office, Hillsboro Police Department and Greenfield Police Department officers participated in the May 9 arrest roundup.

According to Highland County Prosecutor Anneka Collins, those arrested Wednesday included Travis Blevins, 41; John Campbell, 40; Jeffrey Duncan, 50; Jeffrey Everhart, 42; Charles Lancaster, 35; Billy Rhoads, 60; Karissa Runyon, 29; and Johnda Smith, 48.

As of this article’s posting, all of the Highland County Task Force indictments for May remain sealed. However, Highland County Justice Center entries show various drug trafficking and possession charges against the inmates, including second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-degree felonies. (An indictment is merely a charge and is not evidence of guilt.)

The Highland County Task Force has a Facebook page and takes anonymous and confidential tips regarding substance abuse and trafficking in Highland County.
