A Greenfield man indicted on 15 counts in May in connection with a Highland County Task Force investigation has been sentenced to four years in prison.
Jeffrey D. Everhart II, 42, was indicted May 7 on one count of aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine, a third-degree felony; one count of aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a third-degree felony; one count of having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony; six counts of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, five fourth-degree and one fifth-degree felonies; and six counts of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, four fourth-degree and two fifth-degree felonies.
The charges were the result of ongoing work of the Highland County Task Force and local county law enforcement partners to stop drug trafficking in the area.
According to court records, Everhart pleaded guilty June 27 to two fourth-degree felony counts of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound and the lone third-degree felony aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine charge. The remaining 12 counts were dismissed.
For those charges, a bill of particulars alleges that on or about Aug. 30, 2023 in Greenfield, Everhart sold 2.02 grams of a fentanyl-related compound to a confidential informant (CI) working with the Highland County Task Force. On the following day, it is alleged that Everhart sold another 1.08 gram of a fentanyl-related compound to a CI, also in Greenfield, at his residence.
The third-degree felony charge stems from an alleged incident on or about Nov. 20, 2023, also at Everhart’s Greenfield home. On that date, it is alleged that Everhart sold 6.69 grams of meth to a CI.
Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Everhart to 12 months on each fourth-degree felony count, consecutive to 24 months on the third-degree felony count, for a total of 48 months in prison. Everhart had 52 days of jail time credit.
In addition, Everhart was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $740 to the Highland County Task Force.
