Greenfield board organizes for 2026; board has interest in Scioto Valley Conference

The Greenfield Exempted Village School District Board of Education held its organizational meeting on Jan. 13, 2026.
In the first meeting of the year, as mandated by Ohio law, the school board set meeting dates for the year, elected board leadership and committee members, approved memberships to various organizations, and also approved the annual budget.
The board of education leadership, as voted on by school board members on Jan. 13, are Eric Zint, president, and Rachel Fraley, vice president. OSBA (Ohio School Boards Association) posts filled in the meeting were: legislative liaison, Eric Wise; OSBA delegate, Eric Wise; and OSBA alternate delegate, Charley Roman.
Committee memberships are: Rachel Fraley and Charley Roman - Athletic Facilities Committee, Charley Roman and Eric Zint - Budget and Finance Committee, Sandy Free and Rachel Fraley - Building and Grounds Committee, Eric Wise and Eric Zint - Policy, Curriculum, and Communication Committee, and Sandy Free and Eric Wise - Student Achievement Committee.
The regular meeting dates and locations as approved for 2026 are as follows: Jan. 26 - Greenfield Elementary (cafetorium), Feb. 23 - Rainsboro Elementary (cafeteria), March 23 - Buckskin Elementary (cafeteria), Apr. 20 - Greenfield Elementary (cafeteria), and May 18, June 29, July 22, and Aug. 17 - all at the central office boardroom. The meetings for the remainder of the year are Sept. 21, Oct. 19, Nov. 23, and Dec. 15 with the meeting locations yet to be determined. All meetings begin at 7 p.m.
Among other business, board members approved appointments of various legal counsel, board member compensation, and the 2026 tax budget.
Another item of business voted on – which was brought before the board at this meeting due to timing on the matter – and approved was the Greenfield Middle School field trip to the Student Leadership Day at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland in February.
In other business, Superintendent Quincey Gray provided an update regarding a letter of interest (copied below) submitted by the Greenfield school district in the fall to the Scioto Valley Conference. She said the organization has not yet made a final decision.
