  • Emblem Club collects canned goods
    The Hillsboro Emblem Club held their annual Memorial Service on November 9, 2010 at 7:10 p.m. at the Hillsboro Elks Lodge. Departed member Margaret Ludwick’s name was entered in the Memorial. There were 13 members who were present for the meeting that followed. ER Dan Pearce was in attendance updating the club on Elks news.

    All market steers will be weighed, ear tagged with Highland County tags, and nose printed on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 from 7-9 a.m. at Union Stockyards in Hillsboro.

    Last week certainly had a more typical look and feel of fall weather with the cooler, damp, and windy conditions.  The wind certainly removed most of the remaining leaves on the trees. As I have said on many occasions before, I am definitely not a big fan of the shorter daylight hours that this time of year brings. Maybe it wouldn’t seem so bad this year if the Bengals were having a better season!
