    Lions upend Hillsboro in rivalry game

    If there ever was a game where Fairfield head coach Everett Snyder could say his players stepped up, it could be after Saturday night. The Lions, coming off a tough league loss the night before, not only defeated Highland County counterpart Hillsboro, 44-38, but did it without the normal lineup.

    Indians fall at the buzzer
    A basket by Washington's Derek Shaw in the final moments of the South Central Ohio League game against the Hillsboro Indians not only broke a tie, but sent the Indians to a league loss Friday night, as the Blue Lions went back to Fayette County with a 58-56 win.

    Nothing came easy for either the Hillsboro Indians or the McClain Tigers Tuesday night … nothing at all. Both teams put on a battle where one would top the other in the third quarter, but it was the host Indians who held onto the lead for the final 9:42 minutes to gain a 55-51 win at HHS.

    Falcons defend home court, defeat Indians
    The fourth quarter wasn't kind to the Hillsboro Indians Friday night. HHS, again, lost a lead after entering the fourth frame with the advantage, as they led 33-31 entering the fourth but lost the final eight minutes as they were outscored 18-3.
