Ohio National Guard transportation company to deploy
About 150 members of the Ohio Army National Guard’s 1483rd Transportation Company, located in Walbridge, Ohio, are deploying in support of U.S. Central Command.
The public is invited to attend a call to duty ceremony honoring the soldiers Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. at Lake High School, 28080 Lemoyne Road, Millbury 43447.
While deployed, the unit will support Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve in the areas of transportation, port security, theater gateway operations and life sustainment.
The unit previously deployed to Iraq in 2009-10 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
