Greenfield woman gets community control in meth trafficking case
A Greenfield woman indicted earlier this year in connection with a Highland County Task Force meth trafficking investigation was sentenced this week to community control.
Tammy Miller, 61, was charged in February with aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine, a third-degree felony; aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a third-degree felony; and a forfeiture specification.
She pleaded guilty to the trafficking charge and forfeiture specification on April 2, according to court records.
According to a bill of particulars, on or about Dec. 15, members of the Highland County Task Force observed Miller traveling to Dayton and returning to Greenfield, believing she was going to the city to purchase meth. When she came back to the village, Greenfield Police officers made a stop on Miller’s vehicle, where a Greenfield K-9 positively indicated for drugs.
Upon investigation, it was determined that Miller had allegedly gone to Dayton to purchase meth, and officers located a plastic bag of “a crystalline substance” that BCI later determined contained 13.92 grams of meth.
Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Miller on May 1 to three years of community control and ordered her to successfully complete substance use disorder treatment.
The 2008 Chevrolet SUV used by Miller to transport meth from Dayton to Greenfield was ordered forfeited to the Greenfield Police Department, “due to its instrumentality in the commission or facilitation of the offense.”
