A Goshen man was sentenced to prison recently after pleading guilty to menacing by stalking in a Highland County case.

Gary F. Springer, 42, was indicted by a Highland County grand jury on the fourth-degree felony charge in September.

The indictment alleged that between July 2-Aug. 1, Springer “did, by engaging in a pattern of conduct, knowingly cause” a victim “to believe that Springer will cause physical harm” to the victim or to a family or household member of the victim or that Springer “did cause mental distress” to the victim or the victim’s family/household.

According to court records, Springer pleaded guilty to the charge Sept. 30, four weeks after being indicted.

Although the plea agreement recommended a sentence of 11 months, Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss imposed a 15-month sentence on Springer. Springer had 80 days of jail time credit.
