Beavercreek woman sentenced in 3 separate Highland County cases
A Beavercreek woman was sentenced to community control recently after pleading guilty to felony charges in three separate Highland County cases.
As previously reported, Kelley M. Humphrey, 27, was indicted in June 2022 on one count of theft, a fifth-degree felony. In February 2023, she was charged with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, and in April 2023, she was indicted on one count of failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony.
A bill of particulars alleged that a Highland County business owner reported that between September and December 2021, Humphrey submitted hours for pay despite failing to come to work. During that period, it was alleged that Humphrey had submitted and received pay for over 400 hours of work, leading to $4,634.69 being deposited into her bank account.
Humphrey was accused of tampering with evidence after appearing at the Highland County Probation Department in January 2023 for a drug screen. The probation officer found Humphrey concealing a bottle filled with urine, a bill of particulars alleged.
The third indictment was filed after Humphrey allegedly failed to appear for a pretrial hearing March 8 in the theft case.
According to court records, Humphrey pleaded guilty June 8 to all three charges.
During a sentencing hearing June 20, Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Humphrey to three years of community control. She was ordered to pay restitution in the theft case and court costs. Humphrey will also be required to complete a recommended treatment program.
