Though both teams had been eliminated from postseason play, Lynchburg-Clay won their final game of the regular season, Thursday, as they defeated Highland County counterpart Fairfield, 59-44.

The postseason run of the Fairfield Lady Lions came to an end in heartbreaking fashion this Saturday as they lost in the final seconds to No. 2 seed Ironton St. Joseph, 40-39 at Northwest High School in their Division IV SE District sectional final.

The Fairfield seventh-grade boys basketball team finished the regular season as SHAC co-champions with a 10-2 record. They won the SHAC seventh grade tournament.

One night after suffering a loss, the Fairfield Lions rebounded with a non-conference win Saturday night, as they defeated the Adena Warriors, 57-40 at Grandle Gymnasium.

Scoring 24 points in the first quarter eventually led to the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs defeating Highland County rival Fairfield by a 68-60 score in their Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory.
