Three middle school students from Fairfield (Leesburg) participated in the Ohio Middle and Elementary School State Championship Cross-Country Meet held in Groveport on Sunday, Oct. 20.
After fending off rain, wind, chilly weather and their opponents, the Fairfield Lions moved onto the district finals after outlasting the Zane Trace Pioneers for 110 minutes of play and two shootouts for a 6-5 victory at Jackson High School.
