Another Saturday doubleheader didn't go in the favor of the Fairfield Lady Lions this past weekend, as they dropped two games to the Division II Unioto Lady Shermans by scores of 5-0 and 3-0 at Unioto High School.

Unable to overcome their own errors and late inning runs by their opponent, the Fairfield Lions lost for the second straight day, this time falling to the Georgetown G-Men 7-2 Friday at GHS in non-league play.

First off, with their 6-0 win over Manchester, they clinched their second consecutive Southern Hills League Division II title, and the second reason was senior pitcher Lauren Larrick was perfect from the circle, tossing her first career perfect game.

Though they scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, the deficit of the Fairfield Lions was too much to overcome as they fell in a Southern Hills League game to the Eastern Brown Warriors, 8-5 Monday at FHS.

The Fairfield Lady Lions saw their 23-game Southern Hills League winning streak come to a close on Monday, and with that, they have to wait another day for their shot at a second outright SHL Division II title.

Fairfield sophomore Michael Mangus earned a first-place and two second-place finishes at the 2012 Chillicothe Cavaliers Invitational.
