Tigers, Lady Indians win in tri-meet

GREENFIELD — In a track & field tri-meet that lasted nearly three hours, the closest race to the finish line was the final one, coming down to under a second. With the dramatic finish to the final race, the tri-meet saw the McClain boys and Hillsboro girls win their respective team meets at McClain High School.
In the boys event, the Tigers won by a score of 95 points, with HHS in second with 74 points and Whiteoak in third tallying seven points.
Hillsboro won the girls meet with 103 points, followed by MHS in second with 52 points and WHS in third with 15 points.
The aforementioned final race was the boys 1600m relay with a photo finish as Hillsboro's Collin Rothwell just raced ahead of McClain's Jeremiah Savage by four-tenths of a second as HHS won the relay event with a time of 3:50.65 and MHS placed second with a time of 3:50.69.
