SSCC softball players earn conference honors

Eight players on the Southern State Community College softball team were honored recently by the Ohio Collegiate Athletic Conference (OCAC) and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
The following SSCC athletes were named as postseason award winners by the OCAC: Jennifer Middleton, a graduate of Hillsboro High School, First Team All-Conference; Amber Frazer, a graduate of Whiteoak High School, Second Team All-Conference; Skyelyn Lucas, a graduate of Whiteoak High School, Second Team All-Conference; Sarah Love, a graduate of Blanchester High School, Second Team All-Conference; Breanne Johnson, a graduate of Miami Trace High School, Second Team All-Conference; Shaylyn Sluss, a graduate of Hillsboro High School, honorable mention; Taryn Christy, a graduate of Whiteoak High School, honorable mention; and Juanita Nichols, a graduate of Whiteoak High School, Freshman of the Year.
The USCAA All-Academic Team Award is given to student athletes—sophomores, juniors and seniors—who have excelled off by the field by achieving at least a 3.5 grade point average. Whiteoak graduate Amber Frazer was awarded the honor.
