SE All-District teams announced for softball and baseball

The 2012 SE All-District teams has been announced by the coaches of the SE District as Highland County had a total of 11 softball players selected and 12 players selected for baseball.
In softball, there were five players named first-team in two divisions as Jenna Perie and Cierra Landrum (both from McClain) were first-team All-District in Division II, and Lauren Larrick, Whitney Hanenkrat (both of Fairfield) along with Kiley Sosby of Whiteoak were named first-team in Division IV.
[[In-content Ad]]McClain head coach Jarrod Haines was named the Division II SE District Softball Coach of the Year.
Second-team players in Division II softball included Taylor Moberly of Hillsboro and Shania Massie of McClain.
Honorable mention in Division II was Kate Crabtree of McClain. As for Division IV, honorable mention included Mikayla Burns of Whiteoak and the duo of Courtney Huff and Shelby Smithson of Fairfield.
There were no Division III softball players selected from Highland County.
In baseball, eight players were selected first-team All-District including in Division II Ryan Case of McClain, and Corey Walker and Tyler Griego of Hillsboro.
In Division III, Joey Butler of Lynchburg-Clay was selected first-team, and in Division IV Gage Carraher, Michael Smith, Luke Taggert all of Whiteoak and Kyle Carson of Fairfield were named first-team.
In Division III, Gage Waits was honorable mention.
In Division IV, Blake Hildebrant of Fairfield was named second team, along with Jesse Bradds of Whiteoak, and Zach Cox of Fairfield being named honorable mention.
