Mustangs place third at Buckeye Hills

In a four-school match on Thursday, three Highland County schools trailed the North Adams Green Devils of Adams County at Buckeye Hills Golf Course.

North Adams won with a low-team score of 173, followed in second place by Whiteoak at 177 and Lynchburg-Clay in third at 181. The Fairfield Lions were fourth at 210.

Leading scores for Lynchburg-Clay included: Zach Blankenship (42), Linus Stoltz (44), Marc Blankenship (47) and Alec Smith (48).

Medalists for the match were Luke Taggert of Whiteoak and Seth Sparks of North Adams each shooting a 37 in the nine-hole event.

Results for Fairfield and Whiteoak were not submitted by their schools.

The Mustangs now stand at 10-3 on the season.

LC will be off for the next week due to the Highland County Fair and will start back up with a match at the Hillsboro Elks vs. Whiteoak Monday, Sept. 10 before starting league tournament play the following day.
