Mustangs move to 11th win of season

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs defeated the Whiteoak Wildcats in a match yesterday at the Hillsboro Elks Golf Course, as both teams were a little rusty after taking a week off for the Highland County Fair.

The Mustangs posted their second-highest score of the year with a 190, while the Wildcats posted a 207.

Top scorers for the visiting Mustangs were Zach Blankenship (medalist) 40, while Tristan Wilbanks finished with a 48 and Marc Blankenship had a 49.

Luke Taggert led the Wildcats with a round of 46.

Lynchburg-Clay now stands at 11-3 on the year as both teams head to Buckeye Hills Country Club to begin the two-week, four-round Southern Hills League tournament, Tuesday.
