Day 2: Mustangs move to 2nd place in SHL golf tourney; WHS 4th

Lynchburg-Clay broke a streak they really didn't want to have, and in the process moved up to second place in the Southern Hills League golf tournament as they defeated West Union in a 9-hole golf match for the first time in over a decade.
Currently North Adams is atop the SHL standings with a 9-hole lead over the Mustangs at 329-338 after two days.
As for that second day and the LC low score, over West Union, the Mustangs out-shot the Dragons 157-159 on Thursday at the Adams County Country Club.
Day two scores included NA with a low score of 151, followed by LC and West Union. Whiteoak was fourth at 162, and they were followed by Ripley (168), Eastern Brown (171), Peebles (172) and Fairfield (189). Manchester does not have a team score.
For the two-day standings, NA leads at 329, followed by LC (338), West Union (339), Whiteoak (362), Eastern Brown (378), Ripley (379), Peebles (385) and Fairfield (406).
As for the day two individual scores, West Union's Bobby Welch was medalist with a 33.
The tournament will enter day three on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at the White Oak Golf Course.
