C. S. Bell Foundry and Showroom, located behind 160 West Main Street, celebrated the unveiling and dedication of the number 54 bell with the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, along with family, friends and members of the community, on Sept. 12. C. S. Bell Foundry and Showroom is owned and operated by Tim and Deb Koehl.

Local bell enthusiast and C.S. Bell historian Tim Koehl met with county commissioners Wednesday, Feb. 21 to discuss two bell-related topics related to the Highland County Courthouse, as Koehl advocated toward removing the bell inside the courthouse and offered a proposal to add a bell to the Highland County Veterans Memorial.

After two unrelated accidents temporarily took it out of commission, the historic, massive cast iron bell owned by the Highland County Historical Society returned to its rightful spot outside the Highland House Museum facing U.S. 50 in Hillsboro on Thursday, Dec. 28.
