The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum Monday announced the eight-person player ballot that will be considered by its Contemporary Baseball Era Committee for Hall of Fame election for the Class of 2026. The Contemporary Baseball Era Committee will meet on Dec. 7 at baseball’s Winter Meetings in Orlando, Fla.

It wouldn’t be baseball without a summer rain delay at the start of the action.

Dick Allen, a seven-time All-Star and two-time home run champion, and Dave Parker, a two-time batting champion and the owner of two World Series rings, earned election to the National Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday via the Classic Baseball Era Committee process, it was announced Sunday on MLB Network.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum recently announced the eight-person ballot that will be considered by its Classic Baseball Era Committee for Hall of Fame election for the Class of 2025. The Classic Baseball Era Committee will meet on Dec. 8 at baseball’s Winter Meetings in Dallas.

A former Most Valuable Player Award winner and three-time batting champion, another batting titlist, three MVP runners-up, a Cy Young Award winner, a World Series home-run record holder and the only pitcher to total double-digit complete games in a season this century are among a group of 12 new candidates appearing on the 2024 National Baseball Hall of Fame ballot that is being mailed this week to approximately 400 voting members of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.

Ten of the National Pastime’s most beloved voices have been named as the finalists for the 2024 Ford C. Frick Award, presented annually for excellence in baseball broadcasting by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
