For the second time during his outdoor track & field career and third time overall, Wilmington College’s Nathen Borgan is the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Field Athlete of the Week. He was named during the indoor season on Feb. 19 and earlier this month on April 1.
Borgan (Lancaster HS/Lancaster, Ohio) competed at the Jesse Owens Track & Field Classic Friday afternoon, hosted at The Ohio State University. He finished third in the hammer throw with a career-best toss of 63.55m to extend his program record in the event. That mark came on his final throw of the day.
Borgan finished behind two great throwers in Morgan Shigo (Velaasa Track Club) and Orry Willems from the University of Findlay. Shigo had a toss of 71.36m, while Willems went 64.31m. Willems is fourth in the Division II Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) in the hammer throw.
Borgan still sits in a comfortable second place in NCAA Division III in the event, behind University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Justin Eichler's 67.32m mark.
