GREENFIELD — Two McClain High School legends were honored at halftime of Friday's regular-season finale as the Tigers hosted the Madison-Plains Golden Eagles.
Former McClain varsity head basketball coach Rick VanMatre and current public address announcer John Wend were honored by the high school.
[[In-content Ad]]VanMatre was honored for his induction into the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame with a white and purple basketball jersey with the No. 12 on the front and all of his coaching accomplishments on the back, as numerous former players and family members stood on the court with him to a standing ovation.
Wend was honored with a golden microphone trophy for it being his 30th year as the voice of McClain Tiger basketball.
