Tigers top Clinton-Massie
CLARKSVILLE – The McClain Tigers batted down South Central Ohio League rival Clinton-Massie Friday night, as they took the road league win by a score of 47-41.
MHS led 12-10 after the opening quarter and 24-20 at halftime. The game was even closer after three quarters with CM cutting the Tigers’ lead to one point at 34-33 by scoring 13 points in the third. MHS came back with their own 13-point quarter in the final frame, while holding the Falcons to eight points.
L.T. Walters led the Tigers with 15 points, making two 3-pointers. Caleb Gregory finished with 14 points, nailing three 3-pointers for MHS. Kameron Mace scored six points and Lucas Polley finished with five.
Scott Balzer finished with four points for MHS, followed by Zach Uhl with two points and Cameron Cooper made one free throw.
The Tigers shot 10 of 17 from the free-throw line for 59 percent. MHS grabbed 18 total rebounds, with Walters leading with six and Balzer finishing with four boards.
McClain forced 21 turnovers, while committing 18.
Burgers led CM with 12 points. Luckett finished with 11.
The win lifts MHS to 7-5 overall, 4-3 in the SCOL.
MHS will host cross-county and SCOL rival Hillsboro Saturday, Jan. 23.
