Tigers thrash Red Raiders

    LONDON - The McClain Tigers jumped to over .500 in the South Central Ohio League standings Tuesday night with a dominating second quarter performance as they slashed their way past the London Red Raiders 50-38 at London High School.

   The win lifts the Tigers to 9-6 overall, with an SCOL mark of 5-4.

    Kameron Mace led the Tiger charge with 11 points, making five two-point baskets and one free throw. Caleb Gregory finished with 10 points for the purple-and-gold, as he made four free throws and three shots from the floor.

    Zach Matracia knocked down five baskets for the Tigers as he wrapped up the
game with 10 points.

    Lucas Polley netted eight points in the win against the Red Raiders, as he sank three buckets and two free throws.

    Logan Wise finished with seven points, making three baskets and one shot from the free-throw line.

    Zack Uhl netted four points in the league victory over London.

    The Tigers started the game trailing 14-12 after the first quarter, but rallied back in the second frame with a 14-point output to take a 26-17 lead after holding London (1-8, 1-14) to three points.

    In the third London out scored MHS 11-10, but the Tigers had a productive fourth
quarter, winning the eight minute period 14-10.

    MHS (5-4, 9-6) shot 21 of 56 for 38 percent from the floor, while London produced a 49 percent effort from the floor at 17 of 35. From the free-throw line MHS shot 8 of 11, while London was 4 of 8.

    UHl gained six of the Tigers' 23 rebounds for the team-high, as the Red Raiders gained a total of 18.

    Wise led the Tigers with 5 of the 15 total McClain steals.

    London committed 28 turnovers to McClain's 12.

    Seldon led all scorers with a game-high 17 for the Red Raiders.
