GREENFIELD – The McClain Tiger boys soccer team continued to keep pace in the South Central Ohio League Tuesday night as they easily defeated the Washington Blue Lions 8-1 at McClain Field.

The win keeps MHS in first place in the league at 8-1 in SCOL play. Overall the Tigers are 11-1-1.

“The kids were really aggressive and ready to play,” McClain coach Shawn Jackson said. “We knew going in Washington was going to be fairly tough. At their place we won 4-3, but it was a different story at ours. It was just a great game with a lot of intensity.”

Scoring goals for the Tigers were Sam Henry (two goals), Geoffrey Mitchell (two goals), Daniel White (two goals), and Nick McNeal and Luis Rivas one goal each.

MHS led 6-0 at the half.

The Tigers have a one-game lead in the SCOL with the Miami Trace Panthers at 7-2.

“Tonight (Tuesday) our defense was outstanding, Steven Barber and Chris Wiseman were a force,” Jackson said. “Nick (McNeal) helped in the middle along with Luis (Rivas). All the kids played and we played calm.

“We worked on what we needed to work on.”

The Tigers will play again this Thursday as they travel to face Clinton-Massie[[In-content Ad]]
