Tigers race in day one of districts

      WASHINGTON C.H. — The McClain boys track and field team took part in day one of the Division II SE District Track and Field Meet at Washington Senior High School.
      In the 4x800-meter relay finals, the Tigers placed fifth with a time of 8:52.53. Running for MHS were Jon McDonald, Jimmy Free, Nick McNeal and Guennar Reyer.
      In the prelims of the 110m hurdles, Nate Mess (MHS) was 14th at 18.55 to qualify for the semifinals. Joe Barnhardt (MHS) was 18th at 19.76. In the semifinal round, Mess was 14th with a time of 18.83.
      The 100m dash prelim event had Zach Matracia (MHS) finish with the fourth fastest time at 12.24. Jordan Goble (MHS) was 15th with a time of 12.27 to qualify for the semifinal round. Matracia qualified for the final this weekend as he was sixth with a time of 11.83. Goble was 13th at 12.31.
      In the prelims of the 4x200m relay, MHS was fourth at 1:35.46, qualifying for the finals. Running for the Tigers were Daniel White, Zach Matracia, Aaron Pryor and Luis Rivas.
      MHS was sixth in the 4x100m prelim at 46.35. Running for the Tigers in the event were Jordan Goble, Aaron Pryor, Kameron Mace and Zach Matracia.
      The 400m dash prelims had McClain's Luis Rivas finish with the fourth quickest time at 52.73. Daniel White had a time of 56.92 for 14th place.
      Nate Mess was 12th in the 300m hurdles with a time of 46.58 in the preliminary round. Joe Barnhardt was 19th at 50.70.
      Luis Rivas had a 200m dash prelim time of 25.55. Jordan Goble finished at 14th with a final time of 25.33.
      The Tigers were ninth in the prelim of the 4x400m relay at 3:45.31. The relay team consisted of Daniel White, Guennar Reyer, Jon McDonald and Luis Rivas.
      Kameron Mace finished in fifth place in the long jump with a leap of 19-04.25. Zach Matracia was 12th at 17-11.75.
      In discus, Preston Wagner was 15th at 120-02. T.J. Cox was 17th with a toss of 111-01.
      In pole vault, Aaron Pryor was eighth with a vault of 10-00.00. Zach Murphy was 10th at 9-06.00.
      Day two of the meet will be this Saturday at WSHS.
