Tigers fall at home to Red Raiders

GREENFIELD — Playing nearly even with the London Red Raiders for the final three quarters, the McClain Tigers were unable to overcome a 10-point deficit in the first eight minutes, falling to the London Red Raiders 51-39 Tuesday at McClain High School.
The Tigers (2-6, 5-10) were outscored 15-5 in the first frame, but for the remaining three quarters were only outscored 36-34 in the loss.
In the second quarter, MHS and LHS (3-7, 4-12) each scored nine points as the Tigers trailed 24-14, and in the third, they were outscored 10-9. In the final frame, LHS scored 17 points, and MHS netted 16.
McClain's Trey Lytle led all scorers with a game-high 14 points, as the senior sank three 3-pointers. Following Lytle was freshman Ryan Faulkner with eight points and junior John Turner with six points. Brent Shannon scored five points (one 3-pointer), and Thomas Schrader also added five points with one 3-pointer. Evan Mustard scored one point.
[[In-content Ad]]MHS was 10-of-13 from the free-throw line (77 percent), and the Red Raiders were 9-of-14 (64 percent).
Leading the Red Raiders were Kyle Fisher, Antonio Wilson and Zac Carey each with 13 points.
MHS will play again on Friday when they travel to Fayette County to take on the Washington Blue Lions. On Saturday, MHS will host Hillsboro.
