WASHINGTON C.H. — The McClain Tigers defeated the Washington Blue Lions, 4-1 on Friday, to remain undefeated in the South Central Ohio League.

The Tigers are 2-0 in the SCOL and defending co-SCOL champs.

MHS senior Jacob Dillon went the distance for the Tigers to pick up his first win of the season. Dillon faced 27 Blue Lion hitters, striking out four, walking one and giving up four hits on the day.

The Tiger defense was also solid, committing no errors on the day.

"Jake pitched a great game and had great defensive support behind him," MHS head coach Brandon Streitenberger said. "We took advantage of some errors late in the game, but our pitching and defense is what won the game for us."

The Tigers took the lead in the top of the sixth with Zach Uhl scoring from second base, and on a Blue Lion throwing error.

In the top of the seventh, the Tigers scored three more times to seal the win.

The Tigers took advantage of hits by Uhl, Jacob Branham, Kyle Flora, Tanner Van Zant and Dustin Taylor. All of the Tiger hits took place in the last two innings.

The Tigers (2-0, 5-3) travel to Leesburg Saturday for a tri-doubleheader against Fairfield and Portsmouth Clay. MHS plays at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
