GREENFIELD — The McClain Tiger Shark boys swimming team swam their way to a first-place South Central Ohio League victory on Saturday morning by defeating Miami Trace and Washington.[[In-content Ad]]
In the boys meet, MHS won with a score of 142 points, followed by MT at 135 and WCH at 132.

The McClain girls swimming team finished in third place as they hosted Miami Trace, Washington and Cincinnati Summit Country Day. MT won the event with 151 points, followed by WCH (113), MHS (107) and SCD (46).

McClain's boys team finished with eight first-place finishes. The girls team finished with two first-place finishes.

For the boys, the MHS boys won the 200-meter relay with a time of 2:07.94. Swimming in the event for MHS were Trevor Figgins (backstroke), Kyle Brown (breaststroke), Adomas Fabin (butterfly) and Tommy Free (freestyle).

In the boys 200m freestyle, Aaron Litteral swam to a first-place finish with a time of 2:19.91.

Adomas Fabin (MHS) had a time of :25.75 in the 50m freestyle, and second place went to Tommy Free at :26.03.

The 100m freestyle was won by Figgins at :59.59, followed by a second-place finish by Jimmy Free at 1:04.07. Figgins also won the 100m backstroke with a time of 1:11.50.

Tommy Free swam to a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle event with a time of 6:16.07, and second place went to Daniel Mottie at 7:01.78.

In the 100m breaststroke, Aaron Litteral placed third with a time of 1:25.63.

The 200m freestyle relay team of Figgins, Jimmy Free, Tommy Free and Fabin (MHS Team A) won with a time of 1:48.94.

In the 400m freestyle relay, the team of Jimmy Free, Litteral, Mottie and Fabin finished with a time of 4:13.78 for a first-place finish.

For the girls events, Morgan Dettwiller placed first in the 200m freestyle at 2:29.79. The other MHS girls first-place finish came in the 200m freestyle relay with a time of 2:08.12. The team consists of Savannah Olaker, Jeana Copas, Amber Sowders and Dettwiller.

In the 200m medley relay the team of Olaker (Backstroke), Gretta Reyer (Breaststroke), Dettwiller (Butterfly) and Sowders (Freestyle) with a time of 2:25.68.

Other MHS girls results included: 200m freestyle, second place, Sowders, 2:49.88; 200 Individual Medley, second, Olaker, 2:47.68; 500 Freestyle, second, Reyer, 8:08.44; 100 Backstroke, second, Olaker, 1:09.38; 100 Breaststroke, second, Dettwiller, 1:31.90; and 400 Freestyle Relay, third, 5:28.00. The team consists of: Copas, Kaylee Smith, Reyer and Sowders.

The next home meet will be Saturday, Jan. 14 against Clinton-Massie and Seven Hills High School beginning at 9 a.m.
