After a day in which he broke the Quakers program record, Wilmington College junior thrower Nathen Borgan is the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Field Athlete of the Week.

This is Borgan's first time being honored, and he is the first Quaker to be named field athlete of the week since Jarrett Durr last season on April 17, 2023. Borgan is the first one to be honored during the indoor season since Joe Shuga on Jan. 31, 2022.

The lone event Borgan (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster HS) competed in at the Muskie Meet #4 Friday afternoon, hosted by Muskingum University, was the Weight Throw. He made it count, winning the event with a mark of 19.22m on his third attempt and blowing away the previous program record of 18.70m. That record was set by Hank Benedict in 2001.

This is the top mark in the OAC by a wide margin, as the second-best toss is Mount Union's Drake Willenborg at 18.43m. Nationally, Borgan sits seventh in all of Division III with his mark.

Borgan and the Quakers head back to New Concord, Ohio, and Muskingum University this weekend to compete in the two-day OAC Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday.
