Post 129 takes league doubleheader

CIRCLEVILLE — One day after the Hillsboro Post 129 Legion team dropped two games to the Storm Club, they got back to their winning ways by taking a twin bill against Circleville Post 134, Sunday.
Post 129 won the games by scores of 1-0 and 7-0.
In the first game, Matt Carey led Post 129 to a 1-0 win, behind a solid day on the mound, pitching a three hitter on 93 pitches. He struck out four.
The lone run by the Post 129 squad broke a scoreless tie in the top of the sixth. The inning began with Tucker Hughes hitting a double (on a 2-1 count) and eventually scoring on groundouts by Cody Shaver and Brady Camp.
In the second game, the 7-0 win by Post 129 began at the top of the first with a four-run inning.
Ian Adams opened the game on a walk, and with one out, Hughes singled. Also gaining hits in the inning were Shaver, Camp and Jacob Dillon. Scoring the four runs were Adams, Hughes, Shaver and Camp.
Two more runs were added in the second inning with Adams reaching on an error and being knocked in by Hughes on a groundout. Hughes wrapped up the game with two RBIs.
Also scoring in the inning was Luke Meyer, who singled, stole second and scored on an error.
The final Post 129 run came in the seventh with Camp scoring on an error. Camp was walked to reach first base.
At the plate, Adams was 1-for-3 with one walk and one RBI. Corey Walker had one RBI and one sacrifice. Shaver finished 2-for-3 and was hit by a pitch.
Camp also had two RBIs and Dillion had one.
The win was credited to Dustin Taylor as he tossed a complete game shutout. Taylor had three strikeouts, as he allowed four hits and six walks in seven innings.[[In-content Ad]]
