CHILLICOTHE — On Tuesday, Hillsboro made up their extra-inning tied game with Chillicothe Post 757, but it was a loss, though they did gain a big win in the ensuing game, defeating Post 757, 14-13 at Mary Lou Patton Park.
In the make-up innings of the first game from June, Hillsboro lost 9-8.
Hillsboro opened the scheduled game with two runs scored by Ian Adams and Corey Walker, followed by two more runs in the second inning by Tyler Campbell and Bryce Bean for a 4-1 lead.
Post 129 added four more runs in the third with Cody Shaver, Campbell, Bean and Jacob Dillon all adding runs to the Hillsboro side, which turned into an 8-1 lead for the away team.
Hillsboro continued to score runs with Walker and Shaver each scoring their second runs of the game for a Post 129 advantage of eight runs at 10-2.
The Hillsboro lead went to 11-2 in the fifth with Dillon crossing home plate for the second time against the Post 757 club.
Then the entire complexion of the contest turned for Hillsboro with Chillicothe scoring seven runs in the bottom of the fifth, cutting the Post 129 lead to two runs.
With Hillsboro being held scoreless in the sixth, Post 757 capitalized with four runs, taking a 13-11 lead over Hillsboro.
Hillsboro responded with a three-run seventh to salvage a win with Walker, Taylor and Shaver all scoring runs, with Shaver hitting a three-run homer to take the lead.
