OU’s Houston named HERO Sports Group of Five All-American

Following a career year for Ohio University graduate student Bryce Houston, HERO Sports has selected the linebacker as a Group of Five First Team All-American.

This is the second All-America honor Houston has received. Last week, College Football Network selected Houston as a Third Team All-American.

Houston (Lewis Center, Ohio) was a standout performer for the fourth-ranked defense in the country, leading in total tackles with 119, ranking 16th among all FBS athletes.

Throughout the season, Houston has showcased his talent, boasting team-best figures in solo tackles (54), assisted tackles (65), tackles for loss (12.5), and interceptions (3). In the MAC, he stands at fourth place in total tackles and third in tackles for loss. His performances earned him First-Team All-MAC honors and was recognized twice as the MAC East Defensive of the Week.

On Saturday (Dec. 16), the Bobcats (9-3, 6-2 MAC) will gear up for their final game of their 2023 season on at the Myrtle Beach Bowl against Georgia Southern (6-6, 3-5 SBC). The kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Coastal Carolina's Brooks Stadium and will be televised on ESPN. Additionally, fans can catch the action on the Ohio Sports Network from Learfield.
