Ohio residents take championship trophies

The Ohio INT watersports league traveled to Little Rock Arkansas for the Central & Eastern Regional Invitational on Sept. 17 -19. Team Ohio members qualified by competing at local tour stops throughout the state of Ohio this past summer season in wakeboarding, slalom skiing, kneeboarding and wakeskate watersports divisions. The league is an ability based watersports league that includes divisions for all ages from beginners to pro levels. Each competitor competed in a double round tournament. Over 126 competitors from Texas, Arkansas, New England, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Mo/Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, and South Carolina were in attendance. The event had high attendance of media, friends and families at Victory Lake, Burns Park in Little Rock Arkansas. This prestigious 3-day event presented some amazing riding from the amateurs to the pros. Ohio Champions are: Ian Cole of Mansfield 2nd place Men's Intermediate Wakeboarding division. Drey Thompson of Grove city 1st place Men's Entro Wakeboarding division. Justin Barnett of Ashland 2nd place Men's Entro Wakeboarding division. Nick Behrendson of Ashland 2nd place Men's Novice Wakeboarding division. Tony Colace of Perrysville 2nd place Advanced Open Slalom Ski division. Steve Johnson of Sardinia 2nd Place Masters Wakeboarding division. Other qualified Ohio competitors were Mari Colace of Perrysville and Brian and Bob Chapdelaine of Aurora. The Ohio INT League will be hosting events for wakeboarding, slalom skiing, wakeskate and kneeboarding for the 2010 season starting in June.
