Mustangs win 11th SHL game

DODSONVILLE — The newly crowned Division I Southern Hills League champion Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs continued their dominant effort in league games Friday, defeating the Eastern Brown Warriors 5-0 at Lynchburg-Clay High School.

The Mustangs scored three runs in the first and two in the second for all five runs scored in the game.

LC had eight hits and no errors, as the Warriors were held to two hits by LC senior pitcher Ryan Doss. Doss also struck out five and walked one in seven innings. He faced 24 batters in the win.
Doss has allowed just three earned runs, and has 17 strikeouts this season. His ERA is 0.81 in 26 innings pitched.

At the plate for LC, Wes Pierson, Chaz Lanier and Austin Fawley each had two hits. Fawley had two doubles. Pierson and Lanier each had one double.
 
Dallas Puckett and Joey Butler each had one hit.

Gaining RBIs for the Mustangs were Butler with two RBIs, along with Puckett, Pierson and Fawley.  

Runs were scored by Pierson, who scored two, while Colin Creek, Butler and Fawley each had one run. Creek also had two walks.

LC improves to 11-4 overall and 11-1 in the SHL.
