DODSONVILLE – The Miami Trace Panthers invaded Lynchburg-Clay High School Saturday night and took a non-league win over the host L-C Mustangs by a score of 75-58.

The Panthers shot 67 percent from the field and outscored the Mustangs in each quarter

“Miami Trace dominated the game with their shooting,” L-C head coach Jason McLaughlin said.

MTHS scored 19 in the first quarter and 20 in the second to take a 39-31 lead at the half. L-C in the first two quarters scored 16 in the first and 15 in the second.

The second half saw MT net 18 in each of the final two quarters, with L-C scoring 16 in the third and 11 in the final eight minutes.

Steven Collins led the Mustangs with 10 points, followed by Dallas Puckett, Tyler Davidson and Jorden Dehaas with nine points each.

“Our energy and intensity was lacking the entire game. Our defensive help and rotation was slow, and poor shot selection contributed to our loss,” McLaughlin said.

The loss drops L-C to 3-4 overall. In Southern Hills League play, the Mustangs are 2-0.

L-C will play again Tuesday night as they will face league rival Eastern Brown at EBHS. On Friday the Mustangs will take on SHL foe Manchester.
