The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs have continued to keep their undefeated streak intact with recent wins over Georgetown, Eastern Brown and West Union.

On Saturday, Sept. 25, the Mustangs defeated the Georgetown G-Men, 10-0 at GTHS.

LC scored six goals in the first half, followed with four goals in the final 40 minutes.

Colin Creek had six saves for the Mustangs.

"This was a very dominating performance," LC coach Dennis West said. "Our passing attack just worked to perfection. Our bench players played close to halftime match and never let up the intensity.

"We are really executing at a high level."

In the first half, Tyler Davidson scored first with a goal at 31:30, followed with Jeremiah Hacker scoring a goal at the 26:53. Davidson scored on a cross kick by Michael Smith and Hacker scored by defeating the defense of GT.

Smith scored a goal at the 24:12 mark on a breakaway.

The score went to 4-0 with 23:11 left in the first half on a header past the keeper. Smith scored again, when he scored his second goal on another breakaway with 5:55 left.

Hacker netted his second goal with 2:57 off a pass from Kaikue Costa.

In the second half, goals by LC were scored by Josh Bauer, Costa, Bauer and Chaz Lanier. Lanier and Hacker each had two assists.

Lynchburg-Clay 6, Eastern Brown 0

The Mustangs gained their third SHL win last Friday by defeating the Eastern Brown Warriors, 6-0 at LCHS.

LC led 3-0 at the half.

First half goals were scored by Kaikue Costa, Tyler Davidson and Michael Smith. Davidson's goal came off a thru pass by Costa. Smith's goal was assisted by Jeremiah Hacker. Goals were scored at 30:31, 27:30 and 11:40.

In the second half, Davidson gained the hat-trick, with two more goals in the second half at the 36:59 and 29:10 marks of the half. Both goals were assisted by Smith.

The final LC goal was scored with 10 seconds remaining by Gage Waits. The assist was from Colin Creek.

Creek also played at keeper, gaining six saves.

"Our defense was restless," LC coach Dennis West said. "It was simply suffocating. Our players were ready to play from the start and didn't let up until the game ended. Our final goal was an example of that.

"While our offense is playing very good soccer, it is our defense that is making great strides. They have allowed one goal in our last five matches."
