MT. STERLING — The McClain Lady Tigers kept their current pace in the South Central Ohio League Tuesday evening by defeating the Madison-Plains Lady Golden Eagles, 54-30 at MPHS.

The Lady Tigers led by five points after the first quarter at 15-10, and in the second frame, MHS outscored MP, 9-5, for a halftime lead of 24-15.

McClain added 16 points to their total in the third frame and 14 more points in the final eight minutes. MP had seven points in the third and eight in the fourth.

Jenna Perie led all scorers with a game-high 17 points, making seven two-point baskets and three free throws. Perie added 10-plus rebounds for a double-double.

Chrissy Cobb finished with 15 points, making six field goals and three free throws. Brittany Mullikin scored six points, followed by Frankie Wise with five. Wise sank one 3-pointer.

Kaitlyn Faulconer finished with four points, and Taylor Faulconer scored three points. Makenzie Olaker and Kate Crabtree each scored three points.

MHS made a total of 22 baskets and were 9-of-16 from the free-throw line. Overall, MHS was 22-of-38 shooting from the field.

Wilson led MP with nine points. Woodyard and Ames each scored seven points for MP. MP was 10-of-34 shooting from the field and 7-of-17 from the free-throw line. Wilson, Woodyard and Ames each made a 3-pointer.[[In-content Ad]]
