Lady Tigers lose by 2 strokes to Lady Falcons

GREENFIELD — The McClain Lady Tigers lost by just two strokes Tuesday to the Clinton-Massie Lady Falcons, 200-202 in a South Central Ohio League match at Buckeye Hills.

The loss puts MHS at 2-3 in the SCOL and 9-3 overall.

McClain's Morgan Dettwiller led the Lady Tigers with a low score of 44. This score came one day (Monday) after shooting a 35 at Buckeye Hills against Miami Trace and Westfall. The 35 score was also a new nine-hole girls high school record at the course.

Brittany Massie shot a 49 for the Lady Tigers on Tuesday, followed by Savannah Olaker with a 50. Shania Massie finished with a 59, Sarah Brickey 70 and Taylor Rogers 83.

"Overall, we need to work on our course management, McClain coach Tracey Cokonougher said. "Once we improve this, our scores should improve."

As for the Lady Falcons, they were led by Alex Merriman with a 44, tied with Dettwiller for co-medalist.

Other CM scores included: Madison Phelps 64, Lily Heyob 50, Brianna Dearing 65, Lacy Meyers 52 and Molly Scroggy 56.

The Lady Tigers' next match will be on Wednesday when they host the Madison-Plains Lady Golden Eagles at Buckeye Hills.[[In-content Ad]]
