Lady Mustangs fall to West Union

DODSONVILLE — On Wednesday, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs were defeated by the West Union Lady Dragons, 11-1 at LCHS, in a Southern Hills League contest.

The home team Lady Mustangs (0-4) scored their lone run in the first inning when Lillian Blankenship crossed home plate.

The Lady Dragons scored two runs in the first, six runs in the third, one run in the fifth and two in the sixth for the run-rule, six-inning win.

Amber Grooms had two doubles and two runs for West Union from the lead-off spot. Tasha Barr scored one run.

Alexandria Bowles, who was the winning pitcher, forced three walks. Katee Ramey scored two runs as a courtesy runner for Bowles.

Erin Ross and Nancy Campbell each scored one run for WU. Samantha Taylor and Nomi Day each had two runs.

Katie Mahoney reached the bases twice in the game for LC.
