Lady Lions fall to Ripley
RIPLEY – The Fairfield Lady Lions dropped a Southern Hills League game Thursday evening to the Ripley Lady Blue Jays 70-34 at Ripley High School.
FHS senior Gabby Boone led the Lady Lions with 17 points (tied for the game-high) and 10 rebounds. Boone also added two assists and two blocks.
Megan Sword, a junior, finished with seven points for the Lady Lions, while adding four rebounds, two blocks and one steal.
FHS junior Chelsey Riddle ended the game with 14 rebounds (10 defensive), five steals, five points and one block. Senior Sadie Jones scored four points and tallied four rebounds, three assists and one steal.
Lauren Bowman, a senior, added four rebounds, four steals and four assists for the Lady Lions. Kortney Paris was 1 of 2 from the free-throw line, adding one rebound.
Amanda Sanderson and Courtney Huff each had one rebound. Sirenity Smith had one steal for FHS.
The Lady Lions shot 11 of 53 from the field and were 12 of 22 from the free-throw line. FHS grabbed 39 rebounds.
Ripley’ Sadie Grisham tied for the game-high in points, with 17. Grisham was 5 of 9 from the free-throw line and had six rebounds. Meagan Kirscher scored 15 points in the win, adding nine rebounds and three steals. Melissa Mitchell scored 12 points for Ripley, while grabbing nine rebounds and earning three steals.
RHS had 29 rebounds (10 offensive) and shot 28 of 62 from the field and 8 of 15 from the foul line.
The Lady Lions will play again Saturday a they host the Washington Lady Blue Lions with JV starting at 5 p.m.
