Lady Indians win two SCOL golf matches

      The Hillsboro Lady Indians' golf team added two more wins to their overall total this week defeating the Madison-Plains Lady Golden Eagles and the Miami Trace Lady Panthers in South Central Ohio League matches.
      "Both days were very good days for us," HHS girls golf coach Susan Hunter said. "We were very pleased with a 186 team score against Madison Plains, with all the girls turning in good scores."
      On Aug. 30 HHS defeated MP 186-229 at Locust Hills Golf Course.
      Haylee Wehrung shot a low score for the Lady Tribe of 45, followed by Haleigh Lovett at 46.
      Carey Juillerat finished up the nine-hole event with a 47.
      Other HHS scores included: Halee Allen, 48; Abby Cornele, 49; and Arden Knauff, 49.
      Madison Plains scores included: Taylor Evans, 54; Marrissa Delacia, 57; Jennifer Freking, 58; Chelsea Sifrit, 60; Shelby Clark, 77 and Hailey Matheny, 79.
      On Wednesday, Sept. 1 HHS defeated Miami Trace 196-295 at the Hillsboro Elks.
      Haylee Wehrung led Hillsboro with a score of 46 in the SCOL match. Carey Juilerat followed with a 49 and Arden Knauff had a 50.
      Abby Cornele shot 51 for HHS and Haleigh Lovett followed with a 53. Halee Allen fininshed with a score of 58.
      Miami Trace individual scores included: A.Hidy, 58; J. Little, 67; S. Peterson, 85; H. Peterson, 85; P. Bonham, 86; and B. Bonham, 90.
      "Our match against Miami Trace was hot and dry, both teams trudged through a tough day on the course, but we were all treated to a meal provided by the Hillsboro Elks and the Ladies Golf association," Hunter said. "We would like to send a special thanks out to them for a wonderful treat."
      Hillsboro's next match will be on Sept. 14 against McClain.[[In-content Ad]]
